Trust & Safety
Anonymous donations
You can donate to any campaign without your name appearing publicly. Here is exactly what anonymous means on Ubuntu Pool and what information is still shared.
How to donate anonymously
On the donation page, check the box that says "Don't display my name or profile publicly on the fundraiser" before completing your donation. Your name will appear as "Anonymous" on the campaign's donor list.
What is hidden from the public
When you donate anonymously, your name, profile photo, and any public profile link are hidden from the campaign page and from other donors. You appear simply as "Anonymous".
What the campaign organiser can still see
The campaign organiser and their team members may still be able to see your name and email address for administrative purposes, for example to send you a thank-you message or a donation receipt.
What Ubuntu Pool retains
Ubuntu Pool retains your full donation details internally for fraud prevention, financial compliance, and tax reporting purposes. Anonymous donations are not truly anonymous to Ubuntu Pool, only to the public and other donors.
Changing anonymity after donating
If you want to change whether your donation is displayed publicly after completing it, contact support@ubuntupool.com with your donation reference number and your request.
Your data and privacy
For full details on how we handle your personal data, read our Privacy Notice at ubuntupool.com/privacy.
Tip
Anonymous donations are a great option if you want to give privately without others knowing the amount. Your donation still counts toward the campaign total and the organiser is notified of the gift.
