Getting Started
How to create a campaign
Creating a campaign on Ubuntu Pool takes less than 5 minutes. Follow these steps to get your fundraiser live and start receiving donations.
Sign up for a free account
Go to ubuntupool.com and click "Sign Up". Enter your name, email address, and a strong password. Check your inbox for a verification email and click the link to activate your account.
Click "Start a Flow"
From your dashboard or the homepage, click the green "Start a Flow" button. This opens the campaign creation form.
Choose a category
Select the category that best describes your campaign: Medical, Education, Community, Emergency, Environment, or Memorial. This helps donors discover your campaign.
Write a clear campaign title
Keep it specific and human. Good example: "Help John Mukasa cover surgery costs at Mulago Hospital". Avoid vague titles like "Please help me".
Tell your story
Explain who you are, what the funds are for, and exactly how they will be used. Be honest and specific. Include names, dates, and cost breakdowns where possible. Campaigns with detailed stories raise 3× more.
Set your fundraising goal
Enter the total amount you need in UGX (or USD). Break down the costs if possible, e.g. surgery: 2,000,000 + medication: 500,000 + transport: 200,000 = 2,700,000 UGX. You can still receive donations above your goal.
Add a cover photo
Upload a clear, relevant photo. Use a real image related to your cause: a hospital letter, a photo of the person, or the project site. Campaigns with photos raise significantly more than those without.
Publish your campaign
Review all your details, then click "Publish". Your campaign goes live immediately and can start receiving donations right away.
Tip
Share your campaign link on WhatsApp immediately after publishing. Campaigns that get their first donation within 24 hours raise 5× more on average. Start with people who know you personally.
