Platform fees explained
Ubuntu Pool charges a single transparent fee to keep the platform running. There are no hidden charges, no monthly fees, and no setup costs.
The total fee is 10%
Ubuntu Pool deducts a 10% total fee from each successful donation. This consists of a 4.5% transaction fee and a 5.5% platform fee. This covers payment processing costs, platform infrastructure, fraud prevention, and customer support.
The fee is deducted from donations received
Donors pay the full amount they enter. The 10% is deducted from the amount that reaches your campaign balance, so your campaign is credited with the donation minus the 10% fee.
No withdrawal fees
There are no additional fees when you withdraw your funds. The only fee is the 10% deducted at the time of donation.
No monthly or setup fees
Creating a campaign is completely free. You only pay the 10% fee when you successfully receive a donation. If your campaign raises nothing, you pay nothing.
How to account for the fee in your goal
The 10% fee comes off each donation before it reaches your balance. If you need an exact amount, set your goal a little higher so the fee still leaves you at your target.
Fee transparency for donors
The platform fee is disclosed on the donation page. Donors can see that 10% goes to Ubuntu Pool (4.5% transaction + 5.5% platform) and the remainder goes directly to the campaign. We believe in full transparency.
Tip
Consider mentioning the platform fee in your campaign story so donors understand that setting their donation slightly higher helps you reach your goal faster.
