Supported payment methods
Ubuntu Pool accepts three payment methods for donations, all processed securely via Pesapal, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor trusted across East Africa.
MTN Mobile Money
Available to all MTN Uganda subscribers. When donating, select "MTN MoMo", enter your MTN number (e.g. 0771234567), and click Donate. You will receive a payment prompt on your phone. Enter your MTN MoMo PIN to confirm. The donation is processed instantly.
Airtel Money
Available to all Airtel Uganda subscribers. Select "Airtel Money", enter your Airtel number (e.g. 0701234567), and click Donate. You will receive a payment prompt on your phone. Enter your Airtel Money PIN to confirm.
Credit or Debit Card
We accept Visa and Mastercard from any country. Select "Credit or debit card", enter your card number, expiry date, CVV, and billing details. Your card is charged immediately and securely via Pesapal.
Minimum donation amount
The minimum donation is UGX 500 (or equivalent in USD). There is no maximum donation amount.
Platform fee
A 10% total fee is deducted from each donation to cover payment processing and platform costs. This consists of a 4.5% transaction fee and a 5.5% platform fee. This fee is deducted from the amount received by the campaign. Donors pay the full amount they enter.
Payment confirmation
After a successful donation, you will see a confirmation screen and receive an email receipt (if you provided your email). For mobile money, confirmation typically takes 10–30 seconds.
Tip
For the fastest experience, use MTN MoMo or Airtel Money if you are in Uganda. Card payments work from anywhere in the world and are ideal for international donors.
